Also worth noting, if you farm the early chests too much before you get to the higher reward chests by the time you get to them they spit out junk. I opened teh Domain of Pain chest on my ranger yesterday, she'd never been there before and she got 700 gold and a crap purple instead of the 2/3 plat + a gold.

That's why I always wait till I get to the end - or as far as I think I'll come - and start opening them from the last one to the start.

I have opened treasure chests 4 or 5 times already and I never get nothing but purple now,no matter how long I wait.

in my personal experience, by the third time you open the treasure chest you only get grapes, no matter how long you wait, i've waited more than 4 months to open them and nothing

so, i only open them 3 times and forget about them, is not worth the time, it would be nice if the really reset at least every 4 months

I have done two characters through it, and documented times/reset periods. It is in fact somewhere between 30-35 days before you can touch them. I wait 40 just in case. They are on a per-character basis (I staggered the tests), and each subsequent opening, regardless of how long you wait between openings, are consecutively worse drops and cash.

A new character I imported to Kamadan got the best drops first time though, after I had gone through with the other two chars 4 times each at staggered intervals.

If you touch the chests before they reset, their reset timer restarts. Keep track of when you do it, and you will have some sort of income to work for every 40 days by my safety schedule

Same here, my 2nd warrior's chests won't reset and the only reason I can find for this is that I don't play the character at all, its simply storage and has finished all 3 chapters anyway.

I wait a month, and then another week, just to make sure. The theory that the month resets if you try too early seems pretty decent

they do reset every month, I should know, i do treasure chest runs with all of my characters, you get some good stuff like shadow items and sundering mods etc, sometimes it feels more profitable than farming, lol. but about a month ago i did them, and now im doing them again, and the items and gold are dropping again, so yea, they do reset.

The reset time seams fixed for me, every 30days they all reset, but the quality of items has dropped off signifficantly.

Now all of my chars opened chests in december, out of 9 chars, I got 4golds 2 diamonds and the rest were all purples.

Yes its been said since the beginning that the approximate wait time is a month. I usually give it 5-6 weeks. If you want to tho go every two months. There is speculation that the longer you wait the better the prizes get. I haven't opened them in a while (forgot), so i'll see. I know that originally i started to get worse and worse treasure drops each month.

A good way to keep the quality of treasures up is to stop as soon as you get a grape. On my Necro I usually start getting grapes at the 2nd or 3rd chest I open in Kourna. The Istan treasures are hardly worth it if you're level 20 anyway. They always give me Soul Spires and Paragon shields anyway. *lol* Anyway, I open every other month. My next date is January 15.
